Sorry this update is late, my fault not the Guide Dogs Association!
I received a picture of Hattie who at the time was 6 months. Her owners at this time are Christine and her husband Paul. They have written the information below, I hope you find this interesting as all my customers are sponsoring her.
“Hattie is affectionate, loving and has a big personality. Her basic training – Hattie is a quick learner and has easily picked up basic commands like ‘sit’ and ‘wait’. Hattie has been on the train and busses as she will need to be confident with different modes of transport to become a fully qualified guide dog.
Hattie is still very much a puppy who loves bounding around the garden with her toys. She’s so playful and loves playing with all the other puppies at her puppy class. However, I am having to work at getting her to pay more attention to me and less attention to them! I use lots of treats to help with her training because she absolutely loves food.
Hattie has lots of time to play with another pup she gets on well with, Kiwi. They love to romp around the local woods together.
Whats next – Hattie’s got a long road ahead of her with lots of exciting things to learn. Her guide dog training will enable her owner to have the same freedom and independence as anyone else. “
I hope you enjoy the updates, another one will follow shortly.
thanks
Lorraine
